Courtly Art of the Ancient Maya, publisher : National Gallery of Art <Washington, DC>, abstract: This web feature to the exhibition held at the National Gallery, Washington shows exhibits of several royal courts of ancient Maya in putting them in their original context (cult, religion, society). Thus the historical position and the political pertinence of the artworks can be examined . Furthermore information is given about the society (especially the role of women), mythology, scripture and numbering of ancient Maya. Some of the figures can be enlarged.

Digital Image Archive of Medieval Music, publisher : University <Oxford>; Royal Holloway University of London, abstract: This website is a portal to worldwide collections of medieval polyphonic music manuscripts (the resource does not include plainchant). The music and the manuscripts date from approx 800 to 1500, and the original documents are kept in libraries and archives around the globe. This website includes detailed information for all the known sources of European polyphonic music (which is almost entirely vocal) and high-quality colour images for those which we have been given permission to deliver online by their owners. On the website you can register as a user online instantly (for free) and view the full-size images through the image-viewer.

                                    5. Hagiography Database, publisher : Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection <Washington, DC>, abstract: The Dumbarton Oaks Hagiography Database is designed to provide access to the important corpus of Greek texts. Included in the database is information from the Greek vitae and martyria of the saints of the 8th-10th Century, accounts of the translations of their relics, and collections of miracles.
                                    6. Illuminierte Handschriften aus Österreich (ca. 780 - ca. 1250), creator : Simader, Friedrich, abstract: The database, made by Friedrich Simader, contains material on medieval illuminated manuscripts in Austria. It is possible to search the manuscripts (by date, localisation ect.), the iconography of the illuminations and the texts of the manuscripts. The database is based on the research project lead by Martina Pippal (April 1994 - Mai 1997).
                                    7. MAK-Sammlung Online, publisher : Österreichisches Museum für Angewandte Kunst <Wien>, abstract: The MAK   Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art provides access to parts of its collection via this website. Japanese woodblock prints (Ukiyo-e), east-asian art, late-antique textiles, posters, ornamental prints, drawings of the Wiener Werkstätte, Joseph Binder's graphic design and artist's books can be searched.

Numismatische Bilddatenbank Eichstätt, creator : Malitz, Jürgen, publisher : Universität <Eichstätt> / Lehrstuhl für alte Geschichte, abstract: The numismatic image database contains ca. 3.800 medals and coins from 650 B.C. - 900. The quality of the reproductions is high.
